Are you wanting to give Brave Browser a go but concerned about leaving all of your current browsers data behind, like bookmarks, history and passwords?
Thankfully, Brave browser allows a seamless transition of this data from Firefox, Chrome and IE/Edge. There are two opportunities to start this transfer and we will show you both below.
If you do not yet have Brave Browser installed, go ahead and download it from the official website, and complete the installation.
If you are familiar with Brave browser and what it can and can’t so, be sure to check out our full guide on What is Brave Browser?
The Welcome Tour
Upon opening Brave for the first time, you will be presented with a Welcome Tour. This is your first opportunity to import bookmarks from another browser into Brave. After hitting Let’s Go, you should see the following screen.
From the drop down, simply select the browser you want to import from and hit Import. It’s that easy!
Via the Settings
If you skipped the Welcome Tour when you were first setting up Brave, but still want to transfer your bookmarks, history and passwords from another browser, you are still able to do so.
Simply head into the settings by typing brave://settings in the URL bar, or by going to the hamburger menu in the top right of Brave and selecting settings.
Once there, you should see a section dedicated titled “Import bookmarks and settings”. Simply select this.
You will be presented with a small screen which will allow you to select which browser you want to import from and what settings. This is a great addition as it allows you to only import bookmarks and passwords, but not history, for example.
Simply hit Import and that’s it!
