Microsoft Edge has come a long way since it changed its core code to being based on Chromium. With that comes a lot of the features and extensions available to the more popular browser like Chrome and Brave. Chromecast is a sought-after feature and thankfully Edge has it available to use. The following is a guide on how to use Chromecast on the desktop version of Edge.
Head to Settings
As always, we start by clicking the 3 dots in the top right of Edge to bring up the settings menu. From here, navigate down to “More Tools” which is towards the bottom.
Once we are on the More Tools menu, a smaller sub menu will appear, allowing us to select “Cast Media to Device”. Select this.
If this is the first time selecting this, you will be prompted to install an extension from Google. Select “Restart” to install this extension.
Once the browser restarts, once again head to the Settings menu, and then “More Tools”. Select “Cast Media to Device” again and you will be presented with the familiar Chromecast button. Any available devices you can cast to will be shown here.
