To help ensure you have the most up to date features and bug fixes, it’s good to check from time to time that you running the latest version of Brave Browser. Whilst Brave Browser is pretty good at updating itself and notifying you to reset it to complete the update, sometimes you may want to manually upgrade instead of having to wait. This is because updates can sometimes be rolled out in stages to ensure it all goes smoothly.
There are two ways to update Brave Browser.
Re-download Brave Browser
If you are running a Nightly, Beta or just plain old version of Brave Browser, the best way to get the latest version of the stable release is to simply download it straight from Brave.com. Even if you are running an older stable version, it might be easier to simply to re-download and install. The process will take all your existing settings and bookmarks and update to the latest version.
Update From Within Brave (Desktop)
If you are already running Brave Browser on the desktop and want to check if any upgrades are available, simply head to the small hamburger menu on the top right and then “About Brave”.
If you are already on the latest version, you will see a notification that you are up-to-date, if not, you will be prompted to update and restart.
Update from within Brave (iOS and Android)
The easiest way to update Brave Browser on iOS and Android is to simply head to the corresponding page on the app store.
