Brave has announced its intention to release its own search engine, directly competing with Google and other privacy-focused search engines, such as DuckDuckGo.
The company is currently accepting emails for early access to the engine, with no release date currently set down.
The signup page states;
Brave Search will be an independent, user-first, and private search engine. By integrating Brave Search into its browser, Brave will offer the first multi-platform private browser/search alternative to the Big Tech platforms. Brave Search as a Search Engine Results Page (SERP) will also be available for use in other browsers.
Of note, is that the engine will be available to users outside of Brave Browser.
Releasing it’s own vision makes sense, with DuckDuckGo having a breakout year of growth, with more and more users placing high value on their web privacy.
